Heating oil is a petroleum product, refined from crude oil and used by many to heat their homes.

 

There are two types of Heating oil: #1 Fuel oil for outdoor use and #2 fuel oil for indoor use. #1 heating oil is refined so that it does not gel. This stops it from freezing in the sub-zero temperatures. #2 fuel has a higher Cetin rating but does gel in sub-zero temps.
